The second journal post inside a week must constitute a record for me. A visit yesterday to http://www.colchester-zoo.co.uk/ yielded some interesting photos some of which I have uploaded. Earlier this year they acquired a pair of blue-eyed black lemurs which are very photogenic.  I shall be paying the lemurs a visit whenever I happen to go. As ever, the birds of prey flying display presents a good photo opportunity, and sitting right to one side at the back paid dividends as I had an eagle owl perch slightly further than the minimum focusing distance on my 100-400 lens :)

Well, you blink and a year seems to zip past. Current favourite thing is a EF180L macro lens which I'm having enormous fun experimenting with.  It's as sharp as heck and will do 1:1  It's amazing when shooting flowers that you always seem to find a little bug in there somewhere! Well, lots of things have happened earlier this year and it's been a very sad time.  Those that know me will know what I mean, and perhaps understand why I haven't been very good at updating various things. I recently spent an ejoyable week in Italy and for a change took along 35mm kit.  What a surprise - it made me shoot several rolls of film including new Velvia 100, and some Fuji Neopan 100 (Acros). I have quite a few nice frames, and once I have these scanned I shall add them to my deviations.  Maybe I need a Mamiya 7II or perhaps a Hasselblad XPanII as well for the next trip.  Handheld certainly makes you shoot more - especially in bus
